Longarm Quilting Services
Many designs are available to enhance or complement your quilt’s design. We do not have a computerized machine, nor stitch regulator, so every design is customized just for you! Quilt width can’t exceed 109 inches and the length of the quilt does not matter as that dimension is wound on a roller that is part of the machine. Pattern selection is made by the customer when the quilt is received for quilting.
Stitch binding to quilt -
You may choose to have me attach binding with mitered corners to your quilt, so your quilt will be ready for you to finish by hand. Binding must be cut 2 ½ inches wide, be pressed, and ready to apply.
T-shirt quilts –
Save precious memories by turning your T-shirts into a memory quilt. T-shirts of various sizes can be combined into one quilt artistically. The shirt images need to be clean, pressed, and free of pet hair. (There will be additional charges if you wish us to construct the quilt for you.)
QUILT PREPARATION To achieve the best results for your quilt, please ensure the following: Quilt and backing must be clean and free of odors and pet hair. If you pre-washed the fabrics in your quilt top, it is highly recommended that you pre-wash your backing fabric also. Quilt top, backing fabrics, and seams must be pressed flat. Do not baste or pin your quilt layers together. Backing should be at least 3" longer on sides and 10" longer at top and bottom than the quilt top after squaring the quilt. Quilt top should be trimmed down to final finished size. I will not cut or trim a quilt top. Use three safety pins to mark the center of the quilt top in the middle, on the top & bottom of the quilt top and three pins to mark the center of the backing at top, middle & bottom of the backing.
Remove all excess threads, pins, buttons and other embellishments.
Measure your quilt top across the top, bottom, and at the center. These three measurements should be the same. If not, there is a possibility that there will be puckers or pleats in your finished quilt. Check all seams to be sure they are secure. Stay-stitch around your entire quilt to ensure seams do not pull apart.
Fullness Disclaimer –
Fullness and/or puckers within a quilt and its borders cannot be quilted out. We cannot guarantee that puckers and tucks will not be sewn in. In some cases, excessive fullness in borders may result in the quilt corners not being square. The flatter your quilt top is, the better your quilt will finish.
Mechanical Disclaimer – Please be aware that sewing machines, including long arm devices, are mechanical devices. Although we do our best to ensure perfect results every time, on rare occasion’s mechanical problems can develop which may cause minor damage to a quilt top and/or backing.
